Mac's Hop Rocker

Sorry about the extended absence. My day job caught up with me. I have resolved to implement a new time management regime and most of all, remember that writing this blog is actually fun.

There are a few beers, mostly made by Matilda Bay that have that instant "everyone I know loves this" aura about them. You know the ones, Fat Yak in 2009 and Big Helga in 2010. I have found another one.

Mac's Hop rocker is a hopped up Pilsner. Not something you encounter every day.

You still get a very crisp, clean, vibrant taste that is typical of a good pilsner. But there is more, you also get a little bit of that earthy, grassy hop flavour.

The result? A beer with a lot going on. As it lacks the "Big Bang" effect of the intensely hopped IPA's, its a great beer for slamming down fast or taking your time over. Either way, repeated drinking is rewarded.

Drink it with a chicken and leek pie and tell all your friends.
