Pikes Oakbank Pilsner

I had a terrible day today. One of those days where something that should have taken 30 minutes took 7 hours and still isn't done.

I needed calm. I needed to get out of the white hot rage that had engulfed me. Pikes Oakbank fixed it.

The beer was opened, I was in such a foul mood, I was ready to shred the beer I was drinking regardless of whether it was good or not.

After about half a glass, I suddenly started to calm down. It was if the beer had talked me down.

This is a beer that does not need to shout. It speaks to you in a very calm, even, measured and convincing tone.

Then all of a sudden, your glass is empty and you want another. Walk calmly, but with all deliberate haste to the 'fridge, grab another, open it and pour.

Flavour is very much in the mid range. No element predominates. It has a really pleasant malt/fruit mix.
