Great British Beer Festival - Part 2

Every now and again we will post something relevant from out of town. This is the second and final installment in a two series post on an Australian's visit to the Great British Beer Festival held in London this August

....So they are out of Grains Tamarind IPA, which I was really looking forward to, so under pressure to make an order I order Mauldons blackadder stout. " Smoky, dark, complex, rich, deep with a faintly sweet aftertaste. Stout like you Imagine stout should taste."

Wold Top Mars Magic Ale. "Malt heaven, taste wise having some of the aspects of a good stout A well formed combination". In retrospect this reminded me a lot of Sheeps Head Ale, one of my favorite Yorkshire beers.

Just went to the bathroom. Only two places in the world where men queue to piss. Here and before the start of a long distance running race.

After a pork and leek sausage break I decide to visit the Scottish pavillion. Orkney Ravens Head Ale. "excellent malt hop balance with a slight nod toward hops. You could knock back 6 pints and not be unhappy.

My one for the road is Wales Kingston Gold Ale. Finished on the light side.

I walk across to the tube stop, catch tube back to the apartment. It is pouring rain. I get soaked to the bone walking 7 minutes from Mansion House tube to the apartment.

Then realised that I had an umbrella in my bag the whole time.

Hope I can make it back next year and will be getting a three day pass this time.
