Fat Yak

I received a text message from a friend of mine late in the evening. It was along the lines of "I just got a free Fat Yak t-shirt at the pub."

My reaction should have been "so what". Instead, I responded "get me one too".

Why? A great beer needs to be celebrated with a t-shirt.

My Fat Yak epiphany came a few months ago at a pub in Richmond. Looking at the various offerings on tap, it was a surprise to see something new and local. So what the hell, I tried a pint. Fantastic.

This is a beer that is not afraid to cross the line into fruit/floral/aromatic territory - with surprising success. While this beer packs in amazing amount of flavour, it is quite easy to down more than one - and it is just as good in the bottle.

My friend did manage to score another t-shirt.
